The maids came. And they're coming again. And again. And again. Indefinitely. They came and they conquered every nook, cranny, corner, and blind slat.
My sister said that the first day they came would be one of the most joyful of my life.
Though she has a penchant for exaggeration (you do, Whit, you really do), she wasn't engaging in hyperbole at this juncture. She was right. It was a darn good day.
I love my maid service. They're heavenly. Heaven will have maids. Or magic. But I can't comprehend magic (unless it's quidditch, in which case magic just makes sense--naturally), so right now we're going with maids.
In heaven, assuming miracles do happen and I get there, I will have a maid service. But I will feel a little bit bad about it because that means that my maid didn't make it to heaven and will be spending all of Forever combating the dust on our ceiling fans.
(Or we could get really fantastical and say that there will be no cleaning in heaven. But that's something I can't fathom comprehending. Quidditch makes so much more sense.)

I'm jealous. I so miss the days when I was ever so lucky enough to have someone clean my house. Leaving for the day and coming home to a fresh smelling, clean house without having to lift a finger.... sadly, had to give her up in order to make some much needed cuts in the monthly budget. Glad you are enjoying yours - It is worth every penny, isn't it?
In the days pre-graduate, I started a cleaning business with my sister-in-law. Never again. This post made me think of that. I bet there are maids in heaven. My family thinks there will be mountain biking! Why not maids?
Megan, I have no idea how you did it. When I was first showing the ladies around I started to apologize for how gross everything is (I'm a perpetual apologizer) they stopped me saying that they've seen so, so much worse. Perhaps they were just being nice, but I'm quite sure that they were serious. Yuck,
I feel great about a maid. Don't fight it. Just do it. Good.

Hallelujah for clean grout and shiny light switches!
I've had my MIL's cleaning lady come a few times and, truly, it feels more pampering than the best pedicure or greatest massage.
Where is her phone #?....
And also a penchant for absolutes.
oh, how i wish i could play quidditch....
Guaranteed they've seen worse...just in my time as a cleaning lady, I'd dealt with...drum roll please...rotten meat and blood dripped all over the refrigerator and USED, yes I wrote "USED", condoms. Nas-tay!
You and Caitlyn can go to hell.
Why is it that I get no thanks for making you day?
So, I have a request...am I allowed to request? Seeing as you are so intellectual, and we all know it. Can you write about how you are so intellectual? I thought I was, once upon a time. Things change. I'm a little less, a lot less, of the intellect type. So, my question: what do you do to keep yourself sharp?
Sister FlanFam you flatter me. Request away, but I'm not sure I have the guts to yell out that I'm oh, so intellectual. I can be brazen but it seems that's a little to far even for me. The nice things I say Remark about myself are more often than not tounge-in-cheek. I'd rather do a superb job of mocking myself than write a treatise on my own [absent] intellectualism.
However, you maybe I can find it in me to write up a post on all the pretentious things I wish I were doing to discover and maintain a shred of intellectualism. Or maybe I could write what I actoually would be doing if I had the dedication to grow my brain.
Anyhow. Thank you, dear one. You're too, too kind. (And The Husband would say you too, too terrible for blowing up my ego like that; we already have a hard time fitting it in he care with us when we go anywhere together.)
(And if you have any questions at all about the presense of any intellect at all within this bobbed head of mine, just read that unproofread comment above. You'd think Breast, Megan taught me a lesson. But no . . . )
Perfect. I would love to read about what you wish you were doing to become more. That's what it's all about, right? I'm all about learning from other people. It would be fabulous to learn a little bit more from you.
You deserve to have your ego blown up from time to time. There will always be something that keeps you humble!
total jealousy.
