PICKY BY THE FOOT

I have a disgusting habit.

Actually, I've got a few, but we're just going to review the one that makes it such that my left toenails always look homeless.

I'm a picker. A scratcher. A scraper.

I'll select a electric blue polish, paint up my toenails, and then two days later, I have one disheveled foot. The left one.

When in the car, I slip off my left shoe, fold up my leg, prop my foot on the seat and whittle away at my self-administered (thus very sloppy) paint job.

It's wintertime, so this shouldn't be a problem, right? It's the time of year for good, sensible, closed-toe shoes. Thing is, I practice yoga all year and yoga means barefoot. Means I am exposing my nasty habit. Means as my teacher walks the room, and helps me lift my left a little higher, she sees what I do. When I'm alone. In my car.

It's so embarrassing.

If only I stopped with the polish. I also pick at the nails. And as a follow up treat to yesterday's unflattering photos of the author, lookie here at this post-yoga proof that Haley captured two years ago. There I am. Picking at my toes. Like an ape.

Pedicures: a total waste of flow for this chick.

It's not a situation where we can moisten and stick the digits into cream of tartar to dissuade the child from nibbling her nails. It's toenails we're talking about. And at least I'm not biting them.

Congratulations, we have something in common! This is also my first comment on your blog- if you are lucky there will surely be more :) How are you, and why haven't I seen you in ages?

I'm a scratcher too - but on my skin also. That's even worse, if it's any comfort to you.
I think most people scratch, pick noses and behave rather nasty when they are alone - it's just something we need to do once in a while.

Take a closer look at your yoga teachers toes next time. Maybe she picks too. ;P

Yay for macs!

Megan – I actually had to stop reading this post because I was eating a bowl of cereal. I had to give myself time to let my food digest before finishing your post. But we all have our quirkiness about us don’t we! You make me LOL!

Okay, I totally do that too! Morgan really doesn't appreciate finding parts of my toenail polish....I really do try to clean it up! :)
