It finally happened.

It's been a year since we moved to Reno. Overall, not a bad move. But it takes time to become familiar with a place and for it to become familiar with you. The adjusting period can be a little rough.

I had lunch yesterday with my counterpart and my manager at a local Japanese restaurant. After they had filled out their nasty sushi order form, the waiter appeared to take our orders. Ladies first. I began, I'll have the Yasai—

You'll have your usual?

My usual? I have a usual? He remembers that I always get the vegetable skewers, replacing the onions with extra mushrooms? I have a usual?

I couldn't suppress my smile. Yes. My usual. Thanks.

I have a usual. I'm one of the guys. Reno knows me.

My life is now "Cheers." And you can call me Norm.
