What girl doesn’t love shoes?
We all do, and today I learned that it’s innate.
This morning I was walking into Target dressed for work—skirt, coat, pumps, you know the uniform, and before I got inside, I saw this cute little girl—she was probably 3—and her mom. The little girl saw me, stopped in her tracks, and said, “Oh Mommy! Look at her shoes! They’re so pretty!” They were a boring black leather pump, pointed toe, 4-inch heel, but apparently they had a good profile, because this little girl expressed her love. Right there, I realized that the female love of footwear starts much younger than the time one goes out and buys kicks for themselves.
It’s nice to know that I can’t be held responsible for the shoes spilling out of the racks in my closet—I was born this way.

There again you are like your Grandma Sally - when she was young she couldn't get them high enough! Of course she had to have surgery on her feet later in life because of it - but hey, sometimes beauty hurts.
She had to have surgery? I'm not sure I knew about that. I know about her knees, but not feet . . .
misshapen feet from high pointy footwear.. She had to have bones shaved
Oh, I don't wear them too often anymore--really just work. I like the flats I have like Mally's. But if I don't add four inches to my five-foot-two-inch frame, how can I make eye contacts with my docs?
Good point! The bishopric counselor I work with is probably 6'5" and I get a neck ache every time I have to have a conversation with him face to face, I mean "chest to top of head."
Nice Shoozies. Yes, I must say, if I were frivolous enough to go "Hog wild" on shoes, I would own thousands of useless pairs and I would admire them often. Alas, the mortgage needs to be paid and my daughter needs food to eat. Darn.
Selfish thing. You're telling me you didn't stop right there, take your shoes off and hand them to this little girl? You make me sick
