AIRBORNE GRANNY

When it’s her 79th birthday, what do you get the G-Ma who has all she needs? She’s got a sturdy cane. She’s got two different homes to bunk at. She’s got really quite terrific grandchildren—pretty too, if I’m so bold to say that myself (okay, and handsome, for Chad). She has two dutiful daughters and a son she loves the most merely for his existence. She has a great sense of humor. What more could she want for? It seems Aunt Robin and Marcy (who G-Ma lives with right now) asked themselves that very question. They’d already given her a star, for goodness’ sake. I mean, after you’ve left the planet, what else is there? Just one more elevating experience—and Marcy nailed it: a helicopter ride.

Check out G-Ma's sweet shades . . .

From L-R: Marcy, G-Ma Betts, and Aunt Robin:

It seems that Aunt Robin (left) is displaying her fear of the view on the right.

Apparently there were some digital difficulties the day of, so we’re grateful that phones come equipped with cameras nowadays. These are the campera pix from the special ride that Marcy forwarded Aunt Sue and Aunt Sue forwarded to me, and I then posted for your viewing pleasure.

Isn’t our G-Ma so cute, girlies?

What a cool birthday gift. (Oh, and after seeing this up-close photo of Aunt Robin, I've started my own Full Face-lift Fund; your contributions are welcome.)
